Without adequate financial education, students are more likely to struggle with debt, financial stress and limited economic mobility. Financial Scholars has worked to change this in Philadelphia since its founding in 2020. In the 2021-2022 school year, fewer than 20% of Philadelphia public high schools offered a personal finance class. In 2026-27, 100% of public high schools offer this vital class.
